Our instructors include current and former UNF baseball players, area high school and college coaches, and former professional baseball players.

Dusty Rhodes, Camp Director

Closing out his 19th season at the helm of the Ospreys, head coach Dusty Rhodes has built a nationally recognized baseball powerhouse at the University of North Florida.

He has compiled a 768-311 record through 18 seasons, guiding UNF to 16 postseason appearances, including five World Series, four district championships while in NAIA and six conference championships in NCAA Division II. 

In 2004, he topped the 1,000 career win mark, with a record of 1,072-428 going into the 2006 season. He was named Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005 and South Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2000, 2001 and 2005. 

In 2005 the Ospreys won their sixth PBC title in seven seasons, enroute to playing in the Division II National Championship Game, finishing the year second in the nation.

Bob Shepherd, Assistant Camp Director

Hired in the summer of 2003, Bob Shepherd is the Head Assistant coach for the University of North Florida baseball team. Born Aug. 4, 1967, in Susanville, Calif., Shepherd received his bachelor’s degree from Pan American University in 1994.

He began his coaching career at Pan American University in 1990 before moving to Lassen Community College in 1991. In 1992 he moved to Indiana to be the assistant coach at Purdue University. After leaving Purdue in 1998, Shepherd coached as the assistant coach and associate head coach under Terry Alexander at Jacksonville University from 1999-2003.
